What is the difference between a novel on CD and in a .pdf file?
On the CD the Cover page comes up and takes you to the Table of Contents where you can click on a link for a chapter. With a .pdf file you need to scroll down to where you left off. Also at the end of each chapter in adult novels there is a piece of art which you can also view full screen. On the .pdf file the full screen option is not available. Otherwise, they are the same.

Can my child learn to read with your ABC series?
Some children can, yes. But Dr. Moen believes that because every child learns according to their innate learning style, a program must not only try to provide for basic learning styles but the program also requires the intervention of a teacher or teaching parent to adjust the pace and content to the individual child for real success. Our program progresses from learning the alphabet to reading little (4-paragraph) stories. We do believe that a child has a better chance to build a good base with a program like ours because it includes thinking skills. Why is that important? Because one of the most difficult problems to address with older non-readers is that they can sound out all the words and read pages and pages, but none of it has been processed (or internalized) either for comprehension or even retention beyond immediate recall. Thinking about what has been read (not just repeating it) is crucial to building a solid basis for growth in reading ability.

Why aren't the Early Readers available as .pdf files?
The early readers, particularly the ABC series, combine audio, animation, sequential insertion and interactive opportunities in order to create a learning segment for the child. A flat .pdf file can offer none of this. Nor is download feasible for, because of their complexity, these files are very large.

Are any of the travel series available as download?
No. All the countries have many photos (well over a hundred even for the smallest), which on the CD often overlay in sequence, so even the single countries are files much too large for downloading to the average personal computer.

Why are some more expensive than others?
The price is higher for longer books because of more time required for technical production and certainly more time required of the author. In terms of lenth, the novels run from 150-240 pages for younger readers, from 250-350 for historical and modern romances, and 500-600+ for historical.

Why aren't the Audio Books the same price as the CD?
Because they require from 5 to 9 CDs, and we do not "zip" our content, since for some users that creates a problem.

Do you recommend the hotels the "travelers" use in the Wander the World "trips"?
Recommend in the sense of guarantee, no. But Dr. Enwall did considerable research to find hotels that, in her opinion, offered a good balance of authentic atsmophere, modern comfort, pleasant management and, because the "travelers" are young adult Americans, reasonable rates (as opposed to those geared to people traveling on corporate expense accounts). However, travelers who prefer a more beaten path or a known hotel chain, e.g., the Hilton, might want to make other choices.

Are the historical romances based on historical fact or mostly on fancy?
To date we have published only the historical romances of Aubry Lea Bazan, and she definitely does her research. The story dealing with Caesar's invasion of Gaul, for example, is based on his own writings (taken with a grain of salt) as well as archaeological finds of ancient Gallic sites. Odelia did exist, she was the daughter of the Swiss chieftain, Orgetorix, and the facts of her life, her father's and her husband's are documented. Well written historical romance and historical fiction both follow the facts as documented by primary as well as secondary resources. However, historical fiction has as its "pole star" not romance but the course of history, but there is no human history without some romance!

Is there a charge for using a Tuneful Tale as a dramatic production if it's for a school, even fund-raising for a school program?
For any school, public or private, or any home-schooling group, there is no charge for performance, including fund-raising performances, although we would like to know about what you chose to use. Naturally, for any commercial profit performance and/or recording, we reserve all rights.

When you say that the foreign language classroom games are "classroom-tested," just exactly what do you mean?
The games were developed over 5 years as part of on-going class activity with hundreds of students in an average public high school where a very broad spectrum of students signed up for foreign language.

These appear to be Powerpoint presentations, and I don't have a Powerpoint program. Is this a problem?
On every CD a Powerpoint viewer is provided and the CD is formatted to function in multiple drives. However, some McIntosh computers have no Windows capability and regretfully that is a problem as yet unsolved.
